Kindergarteners are painting rocks with pictures of things that make them smile. They are hiding the rocks around town in the hopes that someone will find their rocks, smile themselves, re-hide the rock and keep passing kindness forward.
Lincolnshire's Sprague School children learn about kindness through stories they read and random acts, like sending a thoughtful message on a rock to share with a stranger.
"It's our hope that someone will find a kindness rock and smile. We are doing this to remind ourselves that everyone can make a difference," said teacher Lee Ann Delli. "We are hoping our rocks will spread kindness as they travel across our neighborhood, state, and maybe even the world."
The school is asking people who find the rocks to take a picture of where it was found and post it on the D103 Kindergarten Rocks Facebook album.
