Learning the Electoral Process
There's no better way to teach our students about the election than by hosting a mock election! This experience allows students, as shown in these photos, to have their voices heard and experience what it's like to visit a polling place! Students had the opportunity to wait in line, cast their votes on a ballot in a private space, turn their ballot in, take a sticker and be PROUD of their vote! Students voted on their preference for a Pajama Day, Movie Day, or Hat Day. Votes were tallied and the clear winner was Movie Day.
"I'm so glad our students were able to participate in this real world "mock experience!" said Second-Grade Teacher Christina Jaslikowski, who helped organize the schoolwide activity.
