Student Outreach

As part of its outreach projects for the school year, a group of Sprague second-graders spent time measuring out rice, ground potato, and other ingredients that create nutritious meal formulas to meet the needs of starving people. Feed My Starving Children is a non-profit organization that coordinates the packaging and distribution of food to people in developing nations.

This school experience as seen in these photos supports the second-grade goods and services social studies unit, giving students a chance to participate in a real assembly line that produces a meal pack that will ultimately be sent to third world countries, directly helping children in need of food.
